Antiques – What does china mean?
Each object has its specific niche, descriptive words, terminology recognized. These words of international understanding, conveying a clear image of the object described.
In the world of antiques is extremely important, especially when the object is not able to be seen and treated by the person who receives descriptive information.
Antiques are a vast subject and each category under the title of "antiques" has its own specific terminology. Keys are descriptive terms used to categories such as antique silver, furniture, ceramics, glass, paintings, textiles, jewelry, etc.
In my area of ancient ceramics, the Porcelain and pottery, I noticed a constant confusion in terms of a particular group of ceramics. These include the terms "soft" and "hard paste" porcelain.
When reading through articles, or on online offerings of old china, I often see the term "soft" pulp used is beyond the fact that the room is well described in the 19th century.
Soft porcelain is essentially a product of the 18th century was certainly not built in the 19th century, with the exception of a few manufacturers in the early 19th century.
The term "soft glue" is sometimes taken to mean that china is softer than the hard paste porcelain, (also known as name, true porcelain), however, these two terms actually refer to the temperature of the oven, not the porcelain itself.
This actually the temperature that porcelain is fired; soft referring to a fire "soft", which is usually about 1200 ° C. Soft is also known as "china artificial" or "soft dough", in reference to the French porcelain.
In contrast, hard paste porcelain is fired by a fire difficult, usually about 1450 ° C.
Hard, or true porcelain, named after the Chinese porcelain, first produced in this country more than 2000 years.
True or hard porcelain is made by the combination of two ingredients integral, white China clay, or kaolin and "petuntse" as is known in English from China, "Pai-tun-tzu.
Technically petuntse is a natural product, rock fuse, which, when worked into a paste, combined with China white clay and fired with a "hard" fire at 1450 ° C, the results of hard porcelain.
More European porcelain soft belong to the 18th century and in terms general, most European hard paste porcelain belonging to the 19th century. But, as always, there are some exceptions.
Another term that seems to be confused is the word to describe a ceramic. When the human form is represented in porcelain or ceramic, it is described as a person ". I recently saw such a description with a figure described as a statue. The statue term is reserved for a period Business life is found in a large garden or park!
Otherwise, when the animals are described in porcelain and pottery, they are conventionally described as a "model" that is, a model of a seated spaniel, a model of an alert, etc. Greyhound
All topics Specialty of the vast range of antiques has its own group of descriptive terms and recognized using the correct terminology is simply given clear information and easy to understand.
