Purchase Help for easel painting please?
Hi guys! I am a student in high school I did and visual arts for several years now. I plan to buy an easel, but I honestly do not know much at all. In Actually, I'm not sure if I should buy one or stick to the paint on the ground or at my office since I am rather short of money = / I often do paintings Oil and other times watercolors or acrylics. My paintings are often times A3 size and A2. In the future I would like to work in A1 format, but I'm not working that great right now. I usually work on paper and sometimes oiled canvas. So what type of bridge would you recommend for me? I do not want it is expensive, preferably less than $ 200 or even $ 150. Or should I not waste my money, and work without an easel?
An easel may well be life long investment. If you are sincerely interested in art, I might consider get yourself a small easel which will last until college. You may paint small now, but in 5 years, you may be very large painting. You're always better off getting a little more than you need, this way you will not feel inhibited as you start to grow. The bridge is cheap (only $ 80) and is well built. I owned one for all my years of college, and proceeded to use it professionally for 3 years after Ultimately, I started to paint very large (about 4 feet tall), and the bridge was simply not strong enough to support as large a canvas. But for serious students, and even most professionals, this support is more than enough. If you have a little money further, I would strongly consider this bridge as well.
