A local art store becomes a work of art – The power of color.
Located in Denver, Colorado, at the foot of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, HR Meininger Company has provided the best and largest choice of art supplies more than 125 years. Yes, this company had customers in the world and many people knew Meiningers! The challenge now is to how to realize a new society already successful. The main store is looking a bit tired and even if it an interesting building, in recent years, it became just part of the landscape along Broadway, one of the busiest streets Denver. Enter McGinty, an interdisciplinary studio that integrates graphic design, graphics, traditional print, web graphics, lighting design and architecture. Jacobsen Brothers Painting McGinty had worked with on a previous project in Boulder So once again JBP been used to help bring new life to a local institution. It was a very complicated job, with many floor plans and many colors. A color scheme was detailed developed with the client. Everything was working together and the colors have been the first time. exterior colors, logo design, new signage and other marketing materials should all complement each other. The color guide was used on site to ensure that each section of the building has made the appropriate declaration.
Once the work was started, it was essential that organize work with minimal disruption to customers Meininger. Concern for safety and convenience of guests was just part of the work of JBP supervisor. PDCA standards have been maintained from beginning to end. Power wash cleaning the stucco walls by removing the dirt that settled along the road on a building located on a busy street. Top exterior paint line was used. Colors had to cover, very true color, to touch up if needed, dries quickly and presents a clean, finished surface at the end of each day. The areas where the stucco walls have been degraded by moisture were coated with an elastomer to improve resistance to moisture. It was a large building which was located along a busy street, and customers flocked in and out all day. Articulating lifts were used on the project to scaffolding and ladders to be minimized to minimize disruption of the activity underway. In little over a week. and gallons of paint later than sixty. the project was complete.
Henry Meininger was delighted by the work. The colors are vivid and the building was really getting noticed! People who had been the engine idle for years and Broadway are fascinated by the use these bright colors to update a Denver institution.
