10-13 Craft I is absent in a camp outdoors for the weekend?
We do the same every year … the rocks painting. What is a good project for girls 10,11,12,13 me. We have access to the basics … glue, scissors, paper, thread, paint, etc. I remember making candles in the sand and tealight holders bit out of tin cans with holes punched in them with nails. … Any idea to have a budget too buy stuff … I want to do something memorable!
I remember a summer at camp we made our own fossils and impressions. We hunted around for animal tracks paper and built fences around them, full of softness with plaster of Paris for castings … and (since the tracks are hard to find) some of us we met with interesting texture rocks, branches, leaves, and other such things, and pour the cast in a disc (in a paper plate, just be thick enough not crumble when dry, about 1 / 2 inches) and then the light as the leaves and on the surface of the stone (rock you can tap into it when partly dry to leave an impression, since it does not float on the surface). When dry you can gently pull the leaves and you get wonderful views. For an artistic twist can paint and decorate their creations dry plaster. Plaster of Paris is pretty cheap at any craft store, and sometimes wal-mart (for some reason not all are).
