Texas is the home to Governor Rick Perry, a pure politician that is as sleazy as they get. Rick decided that it would be best to mandate a cervical cancer vaccine, made by Merck, for all females ages 12 and up. This law could effect my daughter when she comes of age…
First off, since when should the government mandate something like this? It’s not the governments job! Why not just leave it up to the parents?!? It’s ridiculous.
And second of all, it was just reported that ole Rick Perry and eight other “lawmakers” received a $5,000 donation each from Merck lobbyists just days before the mandate. Rick calls it a “coincidence”.
Sure, Rick. Whatever you say.

One counter point on the Cervical Cancer vaccine…if the goverment/Welfare/etc. will be paying for cancer treatment for some of these girls when they grow up, I can see where the vaccine should be a mandate. In the same right, I think it’s just as important to give parents the ability to “opt out” for their children. Just my 2 cents. :)
