New Toys

Bought some new toys recently. First off, the clubs. I went golfing the other day with Chad Mathis and forgot just how much I enjoyed the game. I decided to buy a set of used irons off of ebay. I wanted a quality set instead of just buying the usual cheap set out of a store like I had done before. I knew I liked Ping because my neighbor had a set and I got the chance to hit them before.

It’s funny, being that I work in the video industry, but I have never owned a camcorder. But the other day, Dad broke out old videos of me and my brothers when we were little lads. It was priceless sitting there watching those videos. So I decided that I needed to buy a camera to capture Abbie growing up.

So we bought the Sony HC3 Camcorder. It records 1080i HD as well as regular ole DV. Since the future will be HD, we decided to be early adopters instead of having to up-convert all our videos eventually. With a bit of searching, you can find this camera under $900 off the internet, including shipping. We almost got the Canon HV10, but the Sony has HDMI output and does better in low-light conditions.

Both items should arrive this week, with the camera hopefully arriving before our little girl is born! To celebrate, Blue Moon’s new Pumpkin Ale.
