Suit and Tie

We volunteer as leaders for small groups in our churches youth group. Every Wednesday night, we gather at the home of one of our sophomore boys to have a little discussion time on events relevant to their lives. It’s very open door oriented, meaning that kids are encouraged to bring their friends and while we use the Bible, we don’t go in depth into the scriptures. Kids are encouraged to be honest and say whatever is on their minds.

Lately, its been hard to get serious and pay attention to the topic of the day. We seem to easily get off track and end up just laughing at some comment one of the kids made. So we decided to change things up.

Tonight is suit night. We are dressing up in order to get serious…sort of. When we mean business, we are going to dress like it. Ties and all. Maybe it will become a tradition for every Wednesday night. I need an excuse to wear a suit anyways…
